POLICIES / T&Cs

WHAT WE SHOULD EXPECT FROM EACH OTHER.

I KNOW THIS IS A LOT TO READ, BUT IT IS WORTH IT. THIS HELPS AVOID ANY CONFUSION AND ENSURES WE BOTH KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT.

DEPOSIT:
My deposit amount will vary, for some pieces I may only ask for $50. Other pieces $100. There are exceptions to this as you will see in these terms and conditions.

Essentially, the deposit is absolutely non refundable. If for any reason you decide you no longer want the tattoo, you void this deposit. If you no show the appointment, you void this deposit.
The deposit is deducted from the tattoo cost (If I quote you $200, and you paid a $50 deposit, you would pay a remainder of $150 on the day of the tattoo)

RESCHEDULING:
If you give me more than 72 hours notice, I will honour your deposit and we can choose a new date to do the tattoo. If I'm given less than 72 hours notice, I have no choice but to void the deposit.

If you have no showed me (even if it is an honest mistake, we're all human.) and I voided your deposit, then it goes without saying I will require a new deposit.
It will be a $100 deposit regardless of the piece, however if it happens again (a no show) then not only is this second deposit voided, but I will require you to pay the full cost of the tattoo upfront if you wish to make another booking. Once this tattoo is done, if you wish to book a new entirely different tattoo then we start off on a clean slate with a new deposit.
I don't void deposits with malicious intent, I do it to look after myself and my business. Deposits cover the time required to design a tattoo and have it stencil-ready, it covers the cost of my supplies for the appointment, and ultimately it reserves a slot in my bookings. No shows are harmful for me in the sense that someone else could have booked that time slot and I would have been paid for the time otherwise.
Also it sucks that I need to write this, but if you treat me with any sort of disrespect or talk to me like I am less than human and I don't like your energy, I have every right to refuse to do the tattoo. In this case I'll be the bigger person and send your deposit back, but this is very avoidable.

FULL DAY SESSIONS:
If I have quoted you a full day session this means we will start at 10AM (unless otherwise discussed) and the latest we will finish is 4PM.
Regular breaks are going to happen. This is for you to stretch and adjust, but also for me as tattooing can be quite intense on the artist's body especially the back, hands, and wrists.
If we do finish the appointment before 4PM, this doesn't entitle you to additional tattoos to fulfil the day. My day rate only applies to single large pieces. (Patchwork sessions are not quoted by my day rate, I charge per design.) If you decide you want to use the remaining time for additional tattoos then we can discuss it on the day but it will be at an additional cost. I will offer a cheaper rate than if the tattoo was to be done in another session, as I can eliminate the cost of setting up my station.

Alternatively, if 4PM arrives and we haven't finished the tattoo yet then there are a few options.
Usually, there's a few reasons this might have happened.
1. I simply underestimated how long the tattoo would take, if this is the case then I will take the L and book you in for another session at no cost.

2. Unfortunately you may just not have been able to tolerate the pain, resulting in excessive movement, and/or excessive breaks (if you're struggling to the point where I'm unable to tattoo you I will enforce a break or tap you out.) in this case I will be more than happy to book you in again but you'll need to pay for the day as quoted, and using my discretion I'll try my best to estimate how much longer is needed and book in a second paid session which will be quoted accordingly.

3. You did a cheeky and chucked on some numbing cream without telling me, and now all of a sudden instead of tattooing human flesh I am tattooing a leather couch. I'm not stupid and am very easily able to tell when the skin has been altered using numbing cream. No it's not a myth, it does make a big difference in how your skin takes the ink.
If in your form you told me you plan to use numbing cream that's fine because I will make sure you're aware that a second session could be required which will not be free.

DESIGN PROCESS:
To keep my workflow moving smoothly and efficiently, I typically begin designing and stencilling the tattoo within 72 hours of the appointment. I DO NOT send the design to you at all. This sounds harsh but let me explain.
1. If I send you it digitally, I can't explain in depth why certain elements do/don't work. This is much easier to do in person and explain why I took certain approaches and liberties. I also redraw all my tattoos and will not directly copy another artists' work.
2. I don't trust you. Once again I know that sounds extremely harsh but it's happened before and I refuse to let it happen again. If I send you the design via DM then what's stopping you from finding another artist that is cheaper than me and getting it done by them. Cheap artists are cheap for a reason, 9 times out of 10 they lack the official experience you gain from an apprenticeship or studio in general and lack the prowess that is demanded by tattoo artistry. I will not give you the chance to take my design and have your cousin tattoo it on you in his shed just because he is cheaper.
Instead, I show the design on the day of the appointment and am more than happy to make adjustments and changes on the day to a reasonable extent. If you asked me for a lion, you're getting a lion. We're not adding 6 names and dates, 4 birth flowers and a dragon. If however you asked for a lion with flowers, but you're not a huge fan of the flowers I chose, we can discuss options together and make sure you're 100% in love with the final product. We can change the liliums to peonies. We can't change the lion to a dragon.

By paying a deposit and booking with me, you agree to these policies.
